为了改善和美化玻璃钢制品的表面状态，提高产品的价值，并保证内层玻璃钢不受侵蚀，延长制品使用寿命，我们一般是将制品的工作表面做成一层加有颜料糊（色浆）的、树脂含量很高的胶层，它可以是纯树脂，亦可用表面毡增强。这层胶层称之为胶衣层（也称为表面层或装饰层）。胶衣层制作质量的好坏，直接影响制品的外在质量以及耐候性、耐水性和耐化学介质侵蚀性等，故在胶衣层喷涂或涂刷时应注意以下几点：
